Megan loves showcasing behind the scenes of TV news and often posts fun, interactive videos on her social media. Her mom passed away from breast cancer when Megan was 16, but the love and passion for public speaking her mom instilled in her propelled Megan to pursue a career in journalism and TV news. Miraculously, they found ways to get even the pickiest of eaters to try, and enjoy, the spoonful of parsley, feta cheese and tomatoes found in her mom’s quinoa salad recipe. Together, they produced at-home cooking videos to help families try easy, healthy, kid-friendly recipes in the comfort of their kitchens. Megan got her love of storytelling and performing from her mom. She’s covered numerous wildfires, storms, elections, and crime, winning several awards including a regional Emmy. Megan was featured on Dateline NBC for her reporting on 25-year-old case including coverage of 2021 search warrants, arrests, preliminary hearings, and her exclusive backyard interview with the suspect’s mother. She is most proud of her intensive coverage of 1996 disappearance of Kristin Smart. After that, she spent three years as the Weekend Anchor and a multimedia journalist at KSBY, an NBC affiliate on the Central Coast. in broadcast journalism and a minor in Spanish. ![]() Megan graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (go Mustangs!) with a B.S. She is beyond grateful for the opportunity to be your weather anchor for the 1, 4 and 5 p.m. Bree has emceed numerous charitable events over the years, and plans to continue her work with local non-profits here in Middle Tennessee.īree is an animal lover with one rambunctious cat named Jack, she is a blessed mother to her own little toddler tornado Cole, and wife to her darling husband Curt.Megan Healy is a Bay Area native who gradually made her way down the California Coast and found herself in a dream role on the incredible FOX 5 San Diego team. Also that year, she became a Featured Contributor for the TODAY Parenting Team.īree is an Emmy nominated meteorologist and member of both the National Weather Association and American Meteorological Society. In 2015, she got the chance to do the weather with Al Roker on the TODAY show. Bree spent five years in Missouri tracking tornadoes, winter storms, and the historic New Years flooding of 2016. Louis and joined KSDK as the weekend meteorologist. In 2011, she moved to her husband’s hometown of St. Shortly after arriving in Louisiana, she began her career as the weekend meteorologist for WVLA in Baton Rouge. ![]() After graduation, her husband’s career took them to New Orleans. During her time in Florida she also interned at WPLG-TV. She began her meteorology studies at Florida State University and finished her degree at Florida International University graduating with honors. In the wake of the 2004-2005 hurricane season God compelled her to follow her love of weather and return to school to obtain a degree in meteorology. With a heart for service, Bree felt driven to do more for her community though. After graduating with a degree in Theatre Performance from Southern Methodist University, Bree spent three years working as a professional actress both on stage and film in New York City. With a middle name like ‘Sunshine' Bree was destined for weather. ![]()
